ORCA 2020 Membership Fee Now Due

ONSLOW RESIDENTS’ COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

RE: Annual Membership Renewal 2020

Dear Members

Well it is that time of year when the Onslow Residents’ Community Association membership comes up for renewal.

Our annual membership fee for 2020 is still $10 and we ask that you pop that amount into our ASB bank account which is 12-3223-0204207-00 before the AGM which will be held by the end of June.

Can you make sure you write your full name in the reference particulars.  This will make renew your member shipfor the period of 1 January to 31 December 2020 and it means you will be eligible to vote and stand for office at the 2020 Annual Meeting.

Our committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month in the downstairs lounge of the Khandallah Town Hall at 7:30pm. You are most welcome to attend.

We have a hard working committee but we have a lot of fun too.  Each year we develop a programme of events. Last year events included a symposium on how to be environmentally sustainable, an emergency preparedness expo, a responsible dog owner’s course and at our AGM we had Greg Campbell the CE of Greater Wellington Regional Council speak to us.

This year we have already organised the Annual Summer Khandallah Park Picnic and we are developing another full programme of events.

You will also receive a newsletter every quarter that tells you what is happening in our area and what we have got up too. The next one is due this week.

We have a long term strategic plan that has as its aim – making Khandallah, Broadmeadows and Kaiwharawhara a great place to live.  Our plan centres around four goals:

• Connecting the community
• Making our area a safer place to live and our transport accessible
• Encouraging our residents to be resilient and prepared for emergencies
• Being environmentally sustainable.

Our work programme each year centres around fulfilling these goals.  We also strive to be a conduit of information for the community especially around the work of the Councils.
